The trip went GREAT!! Except mother nature wasn’t ready for us to leave, so she kept us in Wisconsin for an extra day!! I was pretty sad because I missed three classes because of it, but we made it there safely and I was able to attend MANY OTHER great classes!!! The classes were great- packed with LOTS of new information and techniques that I can use.
At the trade show I purchased a new backdrop for the studio, very excited for it to get here so I can use it. I purchased it from a family owned company who custom hand paint all their backdrops for there clients. So excited to use it!! I was also was able to meet and talk with a lot of my vendors and see some new products, like new style of handbags that will be at the studio soon!!
Classes generally took up most of our time, but 1 night we had free and had time to do a couple “Vegas” traditions, like walk around the strip, shop and of course gamble!!!! I did NOT HAVE ANY LUCK!!! I lost $29.99….. Kate however won $40+ so I guess I know where my money went!!
The last day we were there we rented a car with a couple other photographers and went out of the city to take some pictures in the desert. I actually went out of my comfort zone and was on the OTHER end of the camera for a change!! I am not the greatest model because I start telling the photographer what to do and what would be really neat…. but it was a good experience for me to remember what it feels like to be photographed.
I will be attending 3-5 different classes a day (8am-8pm) ranging from newborns, weddings, Photoshop, lighting, posing, business work flow and so forth. There will also be an AMAZING trade show that I am sure I will leave a dent on the ole credit card. I am very excited to refresh the things I know, learn A LOT of new stuff and most of all BUY A BUNCH OF NEW STUFF!!!! Education is a huge part of life and I am excited I have the opportunity to continue my education and grow as a photographer!
